Medium Bodied Beers


Cocoa, spicy hops, and smooth.

Tasting Notes: Deep dark, almost black in color, with a khaki colored head. Velvety smooth aromas of cocoa and chocolate, with hints of noble hops in the background. Spicy German Tettnang hops make a bolder impression on the front of the palate, with creamy chocolate and malt character coming into focus. Medium to light body, with a a hint of roast, and one last hurrah of spicy hops in the smooth, drying finish.


Oat-So-Smooth is a beguiling black brew with a fluffy khaki-colored head. Light dances around the glass’s edge, revealing garnet hues, while dark chocolate and coffee aromas greet the senses. Roasted barley and chocolate malt provide a dark chocolate-like dryness to the beer, while the addition of flaked oats brings a smoothness to this medium-bodied stout. Fruity English yeast and hop character becomes more prominent as the beer warms, while chocolate becomes the dominant flavor. Finishes clean and predominantly dry, leaving a hint of cocoa behind

Baby Joe’s Dunkel

Pours dark amber with vibrant garnet around the periphery of the glass, while a dense cap of khaki foam sits atop the beer. The aroma is full of fresh baked bread, toasted nuts, with hints of chocolate and burnt sugar. The beer offers more of the same on the palate, with noble hops providing bitterness and spicy hop flavor to balance out the malt sweetness. The medium body and dry finish make this an easy beer to enjoy, stein after stein.


Deep golden in color with a dense white head of foam. The aroma is full of spicy hops and hearty, doughy malts, imported from Germany. Spicy, herbal hops lead, with medium carbonation, providing a crispness, as rich malt takes over the palate. The beer’s weight never gets in the way of its drinkability, and the lager fermentation results in a clean finish.

Ultra-cool Dwarf

Pale golden in color. Floral aromatics mingle with light earthy, and citrus undertones in the nose.

Grainy malt sweetness and bitterness lead, while characterful German hops become more prominent, offering more citrus character, while the bitterness lingers on.

Big Hair

A very pale ale, with a white cap of foam. Juicy peach and tropical undertones harmonize in the aroma. The fruit persists on the palate, joined by pithy bitterness, and resinous American hops, perched upon subdued malt sweetness. The beer’s medium-light body, and long, minerally finish, ensure the continued enjoyment of successive pints.

Jack in the Blonde

A blend of both our Bollywood Blonde and Jackhammer aged in sour oak casks; the sour pours a vibrant mahogany with a khaki cap of foam. The aroma is complex, and full of chocolate, tart cherry, oak, and apple cider vinegar. Vinous on the palate, with a complementary acidity. Mild bitterness steers toward balance, while the body is lighter than anticipated. The finish is long with a pleasant lingering acidity.

F.O.G.G. Kellerpils

Pours a hazy golden hue. A dense white cap of foam sits atop. Floral spice, sweet grain, and slight fruitiness mingle in the aroma. Hop bitterness is upfront, but lingering, while grainy malt takes over. Medium bodied. The subtle fruit in the aroma becomes more apparent in the long finish.

Precious Metal IPA

Precious Metal pours gold, with a white cap of foam. Apricot, pine, and candied citrus fruit mingle in the nose, while apricot becomes more prominent on the palate. The bitterness is firm, but not unbalanced, letting the clean malt profile peak through toward the end of the sip. Finishes dry, with a hint of malt and hops lingering behind.

Peninsularity MIPA

This Michigan IPA pours a hazy pale gold, with a brilliant white head. Zesty citrus fruit and pine in the nose. Clean bitterness and crisp carbonation provides a palate cleansing effect that lets the Michigan-grown Tahoma hops shine. Notes of citrus, pine, and mild black pepper spice mingle with the clean, yet hearty malt character of Michigan 2-row and pale malts. Finishes fairly dry, with a lingering bitterness.
