History

Our love affair with beer began in 1991 with our first batch of homebrew. Eventually the brewing operation took over the kitchen and basement and we decided it was time to look for larger digs. So with the help of family and friends, we opened the ABC Brewpub a brewery and restaurant in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1995.

By 2002, we found that we no longer had the brewing capacity to quench Ann Arbor’s growing thirst for full-flavored, unfiltered beer. Fortunately, right around that time, a building became available next door and we knocked a door in the old brick wall separating the historic storefronts and expanded to the east. We added 2 additional 14 barrel fermenters and build a second serving tank room with 4 more 7 barrel serving tanks. This expansion doubled our brewing capacity and gave us the space for our private Tap Room and Beer Cellar.

In 2006 we decided it was time once again to get some bigger tanks and take our show on the road. Our brewpub license does not allow us to distribute our beer so we built the Corner Brewery and Beer Garden in Ypsilanti to brew and bottle our award-winning Arbor Brewing Company beers for distribution.

We continue to brew & serve all of your favorite draft beers right here at the brewpub but can now also offer a wide selection of bottled beers brewed and bottled at our Ypsilanti microbrewery.
