We're closing off the street and putting up the beer tents for our annual Oktoberfest street party. Enjoy a cool autumn evening under the stars with beer, brats, music, and dancing from 5-11 Friday and Saturday. Music provided by Spass. Event takes place at the corner of Main and Washington and there is parking available at the 4th and Washington parking structure. No cover. Must be 21 with valid ID. Children welcome with parents. Join ABC owner Rene Greff for a fast-paced three hour course on the brewing process, the flavor impacts of ingredients on beer and the basic techniques and vocabulary for beer evaluation and appreciation. This course is being offered through the Washtenaw Community College Lifelong Learning program. Class will be held at the Arbor Brewing Company. Annual benefit concert to raise funds for the Peace Scholarship program of the local Veterans For Peace chapter. Local musical artists doing selections of John Lennon and Beatles tunes. $10 admission (no advance tickets). All funds going to the Scholarship, which assists students studying any collegiate level course aimed at conflict resolution or peace studies.
